In the latest issue of RockRevolt Magazine, we included our first movie review for Detention of the Dead. With the movie coming out shortly (on demand on June 18th, and in select theaters on June 28th), we had to dig further and deeper. Per a post on the Detention of the Dead's Facebook page, "Open PUS OOZING SORES and a LUST for fresh meat? YES!!!" With promises such as these, how could we NOT follow up with the film's director, Alex Craig Mann? The film delivered sufficient gore filled morsels of horror to induce horror fanatic wet dreams; however, we wanted to know MORE about what was going on behind the camera and get to know who could deliver such succulent teenage zombie pleasure. And a pleasure it was to speak to the affable Alex Craig Mann!

Big announcement! To all of the bands that submitted for the A2 contest...we have our finalists. This was incredibly hard due to the excellent bands that submitted, so much so that we had a few tie breakers...and we are pulling a reality show type surprise, 6 bands made the cut! The tie could not be broken!

There are some who say that James Michael has the musical Midas touch. It seems that just about everything that he touches as of late turns into gold. He's penned hit songs for Kelly Clarkson, Halestorm, Meatloaf, Deana Carter and many more. He's also a skilled multi-tasker as his production duties resume includes such artists as Papa Roach and James Durbin. Oh yeah, he also double dips with those duties in his band SIXX:A.M..

Ever since captivating the local scene in early 2011, Denver Hard Rock/Metal band Red Tide Rising has been hard at work. In the past two years, they have released two full length EPs, embarked on several national tours, and already have an album set to be released in late June/July. The album, entitled The Rising, has a diverse feel with a song to fit any mood

With over 50,000 rockers attending the event and a two stage, 14 band line-up, it was a day filled with great music for all hard rock fans.
