CONCERT PHOTOS: Static X Memorial Show

Static X Memorial Show

With the unfortunate, and painful passing of the king of evil disco, Wayne Static, his beloved family and friends set up a memorial benefit show at the world famous Whisky a Go Go. Genuinely one of the most passionate, emotional, and incredible concerts, the show featured a heartfelt speech by Wayne’s beloved wife Tera Wray.

The night opened with local rockers The Dark, who played a fantastic set highlighting the band’s passion and enthusiasm. The Dark was followed by 9 Electric, an energetic and spontaneous band that definitely got the audience moving. Next up were Snot, a band with strong ties to the late Wayne Static.

After the openers wrapped up, ‘Static X’ performed, featuring a slew of various musicians playing their favorite Static X songs. Ashes, like the incredible player that he is, rocked out every single song the entire evening. The night featured the incredible talents of musicians such as Brent Ashley, Lita Ford, Nita Strauss, Dave Navarro, Matt Zane, Cristian Machado, Diego Verduzco, Aaron Nordstrom, Carl Bensley, Jay Gordon, Jimmy Trigger, Kevin “Thrasher” Gruft, Eric Griffin, Nero, The Defiled’s Stitch, Marty O’Brien, Ron Thunderwood, Mikey Lopez, and more. Each paid their own tribute to the amazing musician who made such an impact on the musical world.
