KAMELOT premiered their new music video for “Sacrimony (Angel of Afterlife)” today. The song is the debut single off the Florida power metal band’s forthcoming album, Silverthorn, their first with new singer, Tommy Karevik. Long-time KAMELOT fans will hopefully appreciate the amazingly rich tone and range of Karevik’s voice. All of the girls here at the RockRevolt™ office would additionally like to note that Tommy is extremely “visually appealing” in a very sexy vampire-ish dark rockstar kind of way. We’re sure that most of the female (and some of the male) population will agree!
The stunningly visual video was directed by Ivan Čolić and filmed in Belgrade, Serbia. It tells the story of a young man’s overwhelming anguish due to the accidental death of his younger sister. The tragedy is told through a series of flashback scenes and is full of angst, longing and regret.
If it sounds like a total bummer; think again…the contrasting yet uplifting crescendos of this beautifully melodic tune keep viewers from not wanting to break out the vodka on a Monday and cry for the poor guy’s loss. Actually…we could use a shot of vodka to calm our heartbeats down and watch it again!
Silverthorn will be released October 30th via SPV/Steamhammer. The LP and limited edition will have one version of the art, while the standard version of Silverthorn will have a different but equally exquisite version of the artwork.
